ELECTRICAL ENGINEER WITH RF AND TESTING EXPERIENCE
• Hands on experience designing, building, and testing radio frequency (RF) circuitry, as a master student in antenna design. Advised Orbcomm on component selection for a carrier operated relay. Possess excellent troubleshooting skills having setup a VHF/UHF antenna test range involving calibration of my prototype antennas and circuitry and completed message testing with the Orbcomm satellite system.
• Experience with digital and embedded systems include designing a printed circuit board used in early demonstrations for a wrist monitoring device at Biointeractive Technologies. Also implemented a Quality Management System that included a process of inspection, testing, review, and documentation to ensure end medical device meets US and Canada regulations (FCC, FDA) as Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager.
• Particularly skilled at integrating disparate systems and scripts and held validation roles at Nortel and PMC Sierra.
• Personable, excellent communication skills in English (read, write, oral), a team player and self-starter

SUMMARY OF SKILLS & EQUIPMENT
Equipment: Vector Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope
Software: Matlab, ADS, Eagle
Systems: Mac, Unix, Windows

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Radio Frequency
• My master’s thesis project was Orbcomm sponsored and aimed to solve their problem: The current VHF antennas attached to semi-trucks are too tall and can only be placed between the cab and truck which decreases their effectiveness.
• Designed a pair of ultra-low profile cylindrical helix antennas at 1-inch-tall (approaching the theoretical size limit) that can be placed on top of the truck while meeting clearance requirements.
• Designed RF circuits to connect the 2-antenna prototype to a standard Orbcomm modem with a single antenna port: carrier operated relay, diplexer, and novel complementary feed.
• Acted as applications engineer when advising Orbcomm on component selection for carrier operated relay.
• Integrated my antenna prototypes and RF circuits to the Orbcomm satellite system. Message testing with antennas and complementary feed showed excellent results and they are currently in the manufacturing stage.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control Management
• Designed the original printed circuit board for the wearable device used in early demos.
• Reduced risk and expenses by selecting components that allow the device to meet FCC, electrical safety, and battery regulations with greater ease. Device passed FCC testing on first attempt.
• Implemented a quality management system (QMS) to ensure the end product adheres to Canadian and US medical device compliance (FCC, FDA). Ensured each device meets quality standards through the process of writing test plans, executing electronic and mechanical testing, and documenting the results. Designed test jigs to facilitate testing. Trained and supervised interns. Contributed in design reviews with focus on compliance.
• Primary contact for purchasing, supply chain, and inventory. Managed the bill of materials. Created and maintained an online purchasing order system used by all departments. Created an online dashboard to visualize inventory for management.
• Personal contributions have been submitted in a patent.

Hardware Validation
• Validated the performance of prototype CMOS ICs used in storage solutions (SAS and SATA hard drives) by configuring hardware and software for testing, executing the tests, and summarizing results in written reports.
• Wrote scripts to automate testing in TCL.

Networking
• Migrated users to newer MERA system involving database design.
• Provided technical support to customers (other network engineers) to resolve interconnection issues.
• Setup VOIP interconnections with new customers using MERA system.
• Helped finance department resolve billing disputes with customers.

Software Testing & Scripting
• Performed regression/sanity testing to ensure the integrity of developing software on CDMA cell phone network.
• Developed scripts and tools (in TCL) to automate monitoring and reporting of network conditions on customer networks. Trained team members on the tool.
• Updated technical documentation for customers and was noticed by supervisor for closing the most tickets.
